Picturehouse cinemas, and Cineworld, have sacked four trade unionists in the middle of a dispute – the workers were asking for the Living Wage.

This is extremely serious: it’s bad enough for an employer to pay poverty wages. But sacking trade unionists sends a signal to all other employers: “union trouble? Workers making a fuss? Go ahead and get rid. Crack down.”
